Be prepared when you buy this to change the plug since this is a dual voltage machine that can work of 110V or 220V and comes with the European 220V plug. That only took me 5 minutes once I got the plug in town, 15 minutes away.OK, now you have it plugged in and you have some watches that you have let run down so they aren't ticking. What's the process? Well, I used it on about 10 of my old pocket watches that deflected a compass needle significantly when the watch is passed back and forth just above the compass. Make sure that when you demagnetize a watch that you have the watch flat, hold it just above the blue rectangle where you might be tempted to set the watch, and then press the red button. The red light will come on and the magnetic field will make a humming noise. Hold it there for 2 - 3 seconds and then slowly raise the watch up about 4 inches while counting 4 seconds and then lower at the same slow rate until the buzz comes back. Repeat this up and down for about 5 times, with the last time simply beingup when you lift of the watch up and off and away from the field and then let up on the red button. I found that all of my old watches which showed any magnatism now showed no deflection of the compass needle. When they were wound and left to run overnight, I found that several were now in perfect tune with no adjust ments needed. Several others ran fast or slow, but significantly closer to perfect time than previously. I will now do other adjustments to these as I know it is no longer a magnetic problem.Choose the correct voltage when purchasing
