I have had a luminance watch in the past and this one comes off as a cheap knock off. When I got the watch and opened it my first thought was cheap/junk. After looking it over and using it the watch itself is not, but the blue watch band it comes With is junk and makes the watch look cheap. I wanted a watch that I could read the time in the dark and the luminous dial is easy to see and read. The watch case is carbon ox which I assume means carbon fiber, which makes it extremely light weight and durable. The crystal is scratch resistant. It has a date window. The movement is Swiss. Based on that it is probably a well made watch. It is water resistant to 100 meters (330 ft), which is half of the normal luminance dive watch but good for most day to day use if you don't go diving. The watch band is another matter it is blue in color and just downright cheap and it shows. Out of the box my reaction was it was a plastic case on a cheap band. Within 24 hours I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a black watch band for $7.95 and put it on the watch. The black color and better quality of the band made the watch look better and improved the quality. Why luminance would put such a cheap band on this watch I just don't understand, if you buy the watch plan on replacing the band. But for $295 why should you have to do that? I checked the luminNox web site and could not even find this watch. I assume it is intended as a entry level watch. Overall this is probably a good basic watch for everyday use, but is not a good example of what most people expect from a luminance watch.
